::: travellab

> overview

travellab is run by an informal association and network of artists, scientists and cultural networkers. With a laboratory in Berlin (Germany) and branches in Vienna (Austria) and Chiang Mai (Thailand) travellab works on concept, funding, promotion, realization, and evaluation of several international artistic-scientific projects, mainly in media, education and the arts of networking.

travellab researches on society's questions in a digital age, with an epistemological interest in artistic ::: basic research, experimenting with the generation and the incompatibilities of cultural systems.

travellab works with principles of multiple authorship, transdisciplinary workflow and cross-cultural exchange. travellab also is a ::: content provider for cultural formats, such as art projects, concerts, media formats, lectures, workshops, and international exchange programs in the arts of networking.

As visionary thinking and the creation of models for active participation in societies changing demands from the arts became a crucial question in updating the artistic road building habit(x) view, travellab works on shared and mobile resource development through researching topics of Identity, Networking and Economy, in a three years temporary evaluation leading to a book and a digital publication.

> interdisciplinary and cross-cultural exchange

The desired output will be a manual and ::: resource base for interdisciplinary and cross-cultural exchange in the domains of the Arts, Sciences, and Economies, dedicated to give a structured overview and to maintain access for participation in global entrepreneurship as well as information on key technologies used in the arts of networking and standard exchanges, that still have to be elaborated and learned.

Thus travellab is conceived as delocalized development-platform for ::: mobile networking and the creative use of digital technology in context of globalized workflows of collaboration, competition and coopetition. Reflecting the role of digital technology and the coherent shifting of structures in communication and developments in contemporary societies, travellab establishes a forum for translocal connectivity and resourceflow. Based on standard exchange fitting to the use of newly developing cultural key technologies and environmental creation, a series of temporary artistic projects are maintained as valuable content to the arts of networking as a new discipline. From a perspective of changing circumstances of artistic workflow, travellab is engaging in direct exchange in telematic and global cultures and initializes participation in ethic topologies.

By establishing a moving interface, travellab becomes a collective resource constantinous redefined through research on itself. It is strategically structured due to the principles of communicative compatibility and the necessities of functioning as a modular environmental plugin in translocal networking. travellab`s definition as interface of analysis and information mapping results in a fractal accumulation and online expedition, where the moving and adopting environment becomes an entirely redesigned frame and social matrix of networking. During its online-exploration of artistic societies, from transdisciplinary points of view, travellab is dedicated to elaborate and synthesize its own interfacial design through environmental feedback.

> sociotopological experiment

As a sociotopological experiment the internal and extermnalized ethics are considered to be aware of hospitality-rules and chaos, as denomination for a translocal networking, that is likely to follow selforganizing principles, while the moving ensemble is permanently recreating a view onto environmental differences, gestures and content. Its diversity in usage is driven by research and experimental development of scripts and models refering to societies changing demands from the art.

> intermediate art research

Following those traces and threads in networking conditions, travellab will host an intermediate art research and a compossibility evaluation on resource management in the arts. Travellab will use different setup-modes and varying modules to connect remote and locally, rendering knowledge design, accumulation and transfer (ie. at partner institutes/orgs/com, festivals, meetings, workshops, lectures, public adress) into a compound network through its moving facilities. In a focus on international development in social and ecologial creation of artistic networking, travellab will feature various publications (hard and softcopies) from its last analog expeditions (working title) and further release compound and modular tools for dedicated networking demands.
